Comebacks are an art form in Tinseltown, and the corner of Hollywood and Vine — once the fêted home of the Palace Theater — is no exception.
Late last year this once-run-down intersection debuted its sequel with the celeb-studded opening of S Bar. The new boîte, designed by Philippe Starck, has a discreet entrance on Hollywood Boulevard, while inside, stylish patrons lounge on leather chesterfield sofas.
The drink to order: a California-fresh cocktail, like the Celery Superstar, made with celery juice, a crushed serrano chili and, naturally, in this style-conscious city, Roberto Cavalli vodka. 6304 Hollywood Boulevard; 323-957-2279. sbeent.com
